The Royal Academy is hosting Rebirth, a display of works by the acclaimed Japanese artist Mariko Mori, from December 13th 2012 to February 17th 2013.

Based in New York, the artist has gained fame for her diverse array of thought-provoking works, including photography, sound-based installations, sculptures and immersive environments.

Rebirth is timed to coincide with the winter solstice and deals heavily in the themes of life, death and resurrection, combining cultural themes and ideas from modern and traditional Japanese culture, with a smattering of Western ideas.

Mori has worked closely with the Royal Academy to develop the exhibition, which features many of her most acclaimed works of the last 11 years.

Luxury London hotel guests that wish to attend the show can book a Mayfair Weekends package at The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel.

It includes a complimentary bottle of Champagne on arrival, an afternoon tea for two and a late check-out, plus a free newspaper and Wi-Fi access.
