Luxury London hotel guests will be able to learn more about the history of Christmas in the capital at a special Ramble in the Parks event in Kensington Gardens on December 14th 2012.

Called Christmas with Victoria and Albert, the walking event allows visitors to join an Isis Education Centre team for a festive stroll, while learning about the seasonal folklore, traditions and feasts associated with London.

The talks will particularly focus on the key role Queen Victoria and Prince Albert played in introducing many of these traditions, with all proceeds going to the upkeep of the Royal Parks.

Tickets cost £8 for adults, £4 for concessions and are free for under-eights, with the walk lasting from 12:00 to 13:30 GMT.

A wide variety of luxury packages are available to those booking a stay at The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel this Christmas, including the seasonally-themed Magical London deal.

Guests will receive a glass of mulled wine or a mug of hot chocolate on arrival, as well as a festive afternoon tea and turndown at bedtime, plus free movies to watch while snuggled up.
