Next month a fantastic charity beach rugby event is coming to the fabulous piazza of Covent Garden in London.

On Friday 9th and Saturday 10th August 32 teams and 320 competitors will be taking part in the Doom Bar London Beach Rugby tournament to raise money for the chosen charity Restart.

Restart was founded in 2001 to provide to support to former players who have been forced to retire due to serious injury or illness.

Hopefully injuries won't be a concern for any of those involved at Covent Garden as the five-a-side touch rugby games should be a lot more fun-filled than the average test match.

The Friday will be dedicated to corporate teams from London, with finance, property, insurance, surveying and law firms doing battle. The Saturday will feature club sides, including university teams and a even a few foreign lineups.

On both days, 16 teams will compete in four groups, with the top two from each going through to a knockout stage.

As for the wining and dining options during the event, Brasserie Blanc and Tuttons will be offering hospitality packages including Champagne, lunch, wine and evening the company of a rugby star if you've got the cash to spare!

If you fancy checking out this unusual rugby spectacle, why not stay at the The Chesterfield Mayfair, which is just 1.6 miles' walk away or a short hop on the Piccadilly Line from the nearby Green Park station?

And if you're just as keen on fine cuisine as quality ruggers, why not take advantage of its Foodie For Thought package, which comprises accommodation in a luxury room, a full English breakfast daily, a three-course dinner in Butlers restaurant and a copy of Bea Tollman's cookbook 'A Life in Food'.

All this has the makings of a memorable weekend in the capital.
