Category: Sport Date: Sunday, 15 September 2013 Sports enthusiasts and charity runners, make a note in your calendars - this year London Zoo's annual Stampede 10k run through London will be taking place on September 15th, and you're invited to sign up now. Featuring the chance to run through the zoo itself before opening time, the event represents an opportunity to get fit and help animals, with the proceeds going towards aiding the conservation of the most endangered species in the world. Runners will be given the chance to inspire themselves by witnessing some of the menagerie's most exotic creatures, before the track moves into the beautiful Regent's Park. Participants are encouraged to set up fundraising pages as part of the ZSL's Just Giving campaign and to link them to their Facebook and Twitter pages for maximum coverage. But for those who would prefer to sit at the sidelines, there will still be ample opportunity to enjoy a zoo-based sporting event, with spectator tickets on sale with a ten per cent discount for those who book in advance over the internet. Like the participants, spectators will have access to the zoo from 9:30am, meaning they also get to explore the animals before the gates officially open at 10am. Entry fees for runners cost £31 although discounts apply for those who are ZSL Members but this does not including parking. Those who cross the finish line will receive a commemorative medal and goody-bag to thank them for their good deed. Whether you're cheering on the sidelines or sprinting along for charity, Stampede is a great chance to unleash your inner animal. If you're looking for the perfect accommodation to complement the experience, consider booking into the Chesterfield Mayfair luxury hotel for a unique and highly personal stay. Be sure to ask for the African Suite with a Three Nights for the Price of Two offer to make your animal experience complete!
