Category: Sport Date: Saturday, 03 August 2013 Families enjoying a luxury London hotel break this summer could see more of the capital by taking part in Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle, which will be held on August 3rd. Taking place as part of Prudential RideLondon, Britain's biggest cycling festival, the event will allow cycling enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy riding around the city through traffic-free routes that take in some of its most famous areas and landmarks. Vehicle access to the circular eight-mile route will be closed off for the day, ensuring that participants can enjoy travelling past St James's Park, the Queen Victoria Monument, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London at their leisure. Cyclists can join at any point along the circuit, while there will also be a shorter two-mile route available for those who are after a less demanding experience. In addition to the biking action, visitors will be able to get involved with a wide range of extra activities, with Green Park hosting a ramp and tryout park where top stunt riders will be demonstrating their skills. The park will also be selling bike accessories and delicious food and refreshments, while mechanics will be on hand to lend assistance with maintenance issues. A variety of music and entertainment will be available along the route, including bike polo games, while kids can get involved with the Strider Challenge adventure zone, which gives youngsters aged between 18 months and five years the opportunity to try out balance bikes and get their first taste of life on two wheels. This event could be ideal for those enjoying a Mayfair Summer deal at The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel, which includes a bottle of Champagne, full English breakfasts, a late checkout time and a special afternoon tea themed around the West End show Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
