Category: Art & Culture Date: Monday, 01 January 0001 Visitors to London this autumn have the exciting opportunity to visit a brand new gallery, the opening of which is being marked by a spectacular exhibition of sculpture. On September 28th, the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize laureate Zaha Hadid, is opening to the public along with 'Today We Reboot the Planet' by Argentinian-born artist Adrian Villar Rojas. Rojas works with builders, sculptors and engineers in the mediums of brick and clay to create giant sculptures. Previous works have included a 28 metre long sculpture of a whale stranded in a forest. The new gallery itself is a former 1805 gunpowder store that will feature 900 square metres of exhibition, restaurant and social space. If you'd like to stay in the local area, the Chesterfield Mayfair is just a stone's throw from the Serpentine in Hyde Park. Take advantage of its current 'Mayfair Weekend' deal, which allows you to stay until 6pm on your day of departure.
