Unique Gin and Tonic Experience unveiled at The Terrace Bar
When you order a gin and tonic it is normally served in a highball glass and the only choice you make is whether to have ice and a slice. This defeats the whole purpose of the distiller. Here at the Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel we have taken this evergreen classic and show how all the ingredients combine to create a range of flavours.
Our resident mixologists will guide you through an innovative and exciting gin and tonic tour. We have created 4 sensational menu tastings where you will have the opportunity to sample selected gins ranging from citrus to floral accompanied by your choice of tonic water pairings and garnishes.
We believe that the best gin and tonic is about the aroma, the bouquet of botanicals that mark the complex ingredients that go into the distillation process. A bespoke tray has been created to allow our guests to see the different spices and botanicals used and invite them to emotionally encounter new gin and tonic flavour and sensations.
After the gin has been poured, the tonic is gently added and then garnished with different berries and citrus flavours, depending on the choice of gin. The carefully selected balloon glass lets loose the complex botanical aromas that have long been gin’s calling card — particularly now, in an era of new-school specialized gins and premium quinine-forward tonics.
