If you are one for old-school rock, have a penchant for cars and intend to stay a few nights this summer at luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair then there is only one festival to attend.

The London Motor Show is taking place between July 23rd and August 2nd and features a series of dockside concerts at the ExCeL centre London.

Describing its target audience as "middle-aged petrolheads", LondonTown notes that there is the opportunity for parents to embarrass their children during a family break by shouting the words "rock on!".

Confirmed acts include the inimitable Alice Cooper, Status Quo, Squeeze, Chicago, UB40, Deep Purple and Meat Loaf who will play with friends on August 2nd.

Less-hardcore bands to play include Jools Holland, Marc Almond, Bananarama, Belinda Carlisle and Toyah.

With such a diverse mix of musical talent on display, it is important to remember that Dock Rock (as it was previously called) is now officially the Motor Show Music Festival - so be sure to visit the British International Motor Show before heading back to luxury hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair for a much-needed post-festival chill-out.
