Event: A People's Migration: The Bakhtiari Kuch
Date: October 16th until December 13th
Next month Caroline Mawer will give photojournalists and fans the chance to walk in the shoes of a nomadic family whose way of life is slowly disappearing as a result of encroachment from the modern world.
The photographer/adventurer travelled with the Bakhtiari tribe as they trekked with their flocks and families from the winter to summer.
More than 3,000m of mountains in south west Iran are covered by these people and Ms Mawer, who is a fluent Farsi speaker, documented the journey through the medium of photography.
Taking advantage of the unprecedented access she was granted, she collected shots which will give viewers an insight into a traditional way of life which is fast disappearing.
Preconceptions of Iran will be challenged by Ms Mawer's work as Iran's people are displayed living everyday life in a way not previously portrayed in the Western media.
Those keen to add to their cultural weekend away can make it a special occasion by staying at the luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair.
By taking advantage of the establishment's Mayfair Weekends package guests can look forward to a complimentary bottle of champagne in their room, a day to linger over traditional afternoon tea and a full English breakfast at the start of each day.
