Skating fans can visit Somerset House in London this year to take advantage of the open-air rink outside the landmark.

The rink will open from November 19th until January 25th, offering skaters the chance to sample the ultimate winter sport.

According to the official website it is "one of the most glamorous activities on a winter day in London" as skaters can take in the surroundings while taking part in the sport.

The site recommends taking family and friends along to share the experience and states the rink is open to beginners and professionals alike.

ViewLondon.com also reports night skating will be available on certain days, where DJ lights and music can be seen and heard.

Skaters can also glide beneath the branches of the giant Christmas tree, decorated by Tiffany.

People visiting the event can stay at the nearby Chesterfield Mayfair hotel and take advantage of the festive-themed Magical London package, which offers a Christmas gift, Santa hat and tea with Christmas cake.
