The Thief of Baghdad at the Royal Opera House

Date: December 10th until January 3rd

London will be transported into the future this winter, where war rages and the streets burn.

However, thanks to three little boys, audiences will be transported to a world of fantasy and drama where wishes are granted and magic carpets soar through the air.

The Royal Opera House will host the premiere of Will Tuckett's dance version of The Thief of Baghdad, promising viewers a tale of excitement and child-like dream worlds.

While war rages on the streets of the English capital, three young boys seek refuge in a theatre where they encounter a door keeper who tells them a story of a place beyond their wildest dreams.

Soon after, the children find themselves transported to a land where sultans and genies live, a world where princes and princesses stroll and where treasure pours out of the many caves.

The scene is set through music and choreography which depicts the market stalls and streets of Syria, to add flavour to Tuckett's Arabian adventure.

After the show, visitors can return to a London which is not on fire, but indeed alive with festive cheer.

Couples enjoying a romantic break together can continue their fun with a suite at the luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair.
