Theatre fans seeking a tale of turbulent love, jealousy, betrayal and hope will not want to miss La Bayadere, which will be on show at the Bow Street Theatre from mid-January until early February.

La Bayedere is set in Hindu India and revolves around Nikiya, a temple dancer who is in love with Solor, a warrior who loves her back.

The story is complicated however as the noble soldier is set to marry Gamzatti, and also by another character The High Brahmin, whose heart has chosen Nikiya.

With eyes only for the strong warrior, Nikiya refuses the Brahmin's love and meets with Solor in private, where they swear to be with one another.

Unknown to them, however, the jealous Brahmin witnesses their declaration and promises to end the warrior's life.

The pair's feelings for one another are found out by Gamzatti as well and she also swears to thwart their happiness.

Visitors will be taken on a journey where the power of love is manifested in its most beautiful and brutal forms.
