Spring Loaded at The Place

Matthew Bourne, Shobana Jeyasingh, Lea Anderson and Russell Maliphant are some of the most influential and renowned choreographers in the UK and all share one thing in common – they were thrust into the public eye by presenting their works at The Place's Spring Loaded festival.

The Place is the UK's centre for contemporary dance and many of the most influential figures in this genre have passed through its doors and emerged better artists for it.

Spring Loaded is its showpiece occasion, providing a platform for the next generation of choreographers to shine and show the world their creative vision and flair.

This year will be no exception, with Eddie Ladd, Company Chameleon, Douglas Thorpe and Zoi Dimitriou hoping that it can do for them what it has done for the likes of Lloyd Newson and Wayne McGregor and turn them into household names.

A weekend is not long enough to enjoy the works of some of the country's most talented young stars, unless of course, visitors book the Mayfair Weekends package at the luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair.
