Serpentine Gallery Pavilion at the Serpentine Gallery

The landscape surrounding the Serpentine Gallery is going to look very different from early July, thanks to the creative mind of French architect Jean Nouvel.

Heralded for his innovation and individual approach to building design, Nouvel has become the latest artist to be commissioned to design the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion.

Described as the most ambitious architectural programme in the world, the pavilion project has become a site for experiment and out-of-the-box thinking and Nouvel will follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest designers in recent times.

His structure will contrast lightweight materials with dramatic metal cantilevered structures, with the whole thing finished in a vivid red colour to go against the green of the surrounding area.

Architecture fans will be amazed at the bold geometric forms of Nouvel's work and will have plenty to discuss when they return to the luxury London hotel the Chesterfield Mayfair.

While contemplating the inspiration for his design, guests can sip Champagne courtesy of the Mayfair Weekends package.

In addition, visitors can look forward to traditional afternoon tea, a full English breakfast each day, a late departure on the final day, complimentary Wifi and a newspaper during their stay.
