Holidaymakers in London this spring will be able to see one of the capital's biggest annual events.

The Virgin London Marathon 2012 will take place on April 22nd and more than 30,000 people will participate in the 26.2-mile run for charity.

For those staying in a luxury hotel in London, there is the opportunity to watch the runners' achievements from the sidelines and show support for the event.

While this is one of the highlights of the annual calendar in London, there are plenty of other things to do in the capital, including take in a show in the West End.

The It's Showtime package at The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel allows visitors to indulge in their passion for musicals, by giving guests two tickets to one of a number of popular productions, including We Will Rock You and The Wizard of Oz.

Runners will commence the race in Greenwich, before sprinting to Tower Bridge, through the City of London and Westminster and finishing on The Mall, just outside Buckingham Palace.
